Who Am I?I am a fine artist and scenic painter, currently working in Denver. When I'm not trying to mimic marble or comment on the relationship between man, technology, and nature, I love to write and to learn. In school, at the University of Denver, I minored in Applied Writing Practices... Reason? I am a self-proclaimed nerd. Research is my jam! When I'm not working on my craft, you can find me teaching myself new skills such as lyra or rock climbing, or hanging out with my cat.
I was raised in Los Cerrillos, New Mexico, on a small farm, and first became introduced to my love of writing when I enrolled in an after-school Slam Poetry club with Hakim Bellamy. That was in eighth grade, and writing has been a passion ever since, though, I never thought it would be my minor. In fact, I had no intention to study writing until my WRIT 1133 professor, Daniel Singer took me aside and said, "Hey, you should major in this." And I said, "I already have two majors... but a minor is still needed. So, sure!" I have no regrets. |
What is this?
This website is a portfolio of the written work that I am most proud of, or has been most influential to me, or simply that shows how I have grown and advanced as a writer over the past five years. The works chosen have been carefully curated to reflect a variety of genres, voices, and to ultimately show you who I am as a writer.
I hope you enjoy it!
